Netball training 23 July 2014

Today on the 23rd of July 2014 we did netball training at 11:15.  We all took off our jumpers and went into a line outside of our class. We walked to the court and we suddenly saw a woman named Donna. Donna is part of a professional netball team at the Auckland netball. Donna came all the way to Glen Innes School to teach us some netball skills.

First Donna introduced herself to us and she told us to go line up on the yellow line on the side of the court for some warm ups. First we did skipping all the way to the other side of the court then come back, then we did bottom kicks and after that we did some jogging,  side to side jogging and then front kicks. When we finished we all had to come around her so we could  hear what the next activity was going to be.

For the next activity, we had to go into groups of two or three and we played a game called “Friendly and Fire”. Donna taught us the instructions for the game. We had to pass the ball to our partner when she said fire, but if she said  “friendly”,  you have to throw the ball into the air.

After that, we all had to go into 3 lines at the back of the dots. There were 3 dots and the colors of the dots were green, red and blue. Donna placed 1 hula hoop for each teams on the line and she sent someone to go to the back of the hoop so they can catch the ball . The game started and they all got the ball in the hoop and some didn't, like me. When that game finished we placed our hands all together and we said “Room 9 is the best”, then we said bye to Donna and went in a straight line back to class.
